Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Turn on Your Mac
2. Connect the Keyboard
Plug the USB-C cable from the docking station into your Mac.
3. Automatic Keyboard Setup
The Keyboard Setup Assistant should open automatically.
If it doesn't open:
Go to the Apple menu and select System Settings
Click Keyboard.
Click Set Up Keyboard...
4. Use the Keyboard Setup Assistant
When the Keyboard Setup Assistant window appears, click Continue.
5. Identify Your Keyboard
Follow the on-screen instructions:
Option 1: Press the key to the right of the left Shift key (the Z key).
Option 2: Press the key to the left of the right Shift key (the / or ? key)
6. Select Keyboard Type
Choose your keyboard type (select ANSI for your keyboard).
7. Finish Setup
Click Done.
8. Confirm Your Keyboard Works
Open a document or text editor and type to ensure all keys function correctly.
Tip:
If you need to adjust keyboard settings or shortcuts later, revisit System Preferences > Keyboard to customize options like keyboard shortcuts.
